Annual American Literature Association Conference
Please join us at the 31st annual American Literature Association conference in San Diego, CA, May 21-24, 2020. The topic of the session will be “Katherine Anne Porter: Out of the Archives.” This session invites papers on any topic that makes use of Porter’s correspondence digitized by the Katherine Anne Porter Correspondence Project at the University of Maryland Libraries (https://www.lib.umd.edu/kaporter-correspondence).
Please send a 200-word proposal and a brief biographical statement to Beth Alvarez at firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1, 2019. Information about the Porter activities planned for the conference will be posted on the society’s Web site.
Katherine Anne Porter Society Graduate Student Paper Award
The Katherine Anne Porter Society is pleased to announce an annual Graduate Student Paper Award. Interested applicants should submit an article-length (15-25 page) paper on any Katherine Anne Porter topic. The winner, which will be announced on December 1, 2020, will be invited to present a shortened form of the paper at the annual Katherine Anne Porter Society Session at the American Literature Association Conference and will be featured in an article of the Katherine Anne Porter Society Newsletter.
